Buckingham Nicks – Alabama 1975 (12-Inch Double-LP)

This double album showcases Buckingham Nicks’ stunning concert at the Morgan Auditorium, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on 28 January 1975, in its entirety.

One of the most famous pairings in American music history, the story of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks began long before they found international success with Fleetwood Mac. Starting their careers as members of the now long-forgotten Fritz, when the band split in 1971, the couple relocated to Los Angeles and continued working on their music as a duo. They secured a deal with Polydor, and the classic Buckingham Nicks album was released on 5 September 1973.

The duo went out on the road to support the album, playing dates throughout 1974 and into 1975. A particular highlight of this tour was their show in Tuscaloosa, on 29 January 1975, where they performed cuts from the album as well as future Fleetwood Mac numbers, including early versions of Rhiannon and Monday Morning.

Their live career as a duo was short-lived however, as they had officially become members of Fleetwood Mac on New Year’s Eve 1974, and were already recording the band’s eponymous album.

The final five tracks featured here are taken from Buckingham Nicks’ concert at the same venue on 10 May 1974 – including the earliest known live performance of Rhiannon.
