Obverse: Shows the inscription “National Bank of Ethiopia” at the top in both Amharic and English. At right is a portrait of a woman engaged in traditional basket weaving. At left appears a map outline of Ethiopia and a lion emblem. The text “Payable to the bearer on demand” is printed above the denomination “TEN BIRR”. Serial numbers are visible on both sides, along with the Governor’s signature and the printed dates “1989” and “1997”. Decorative security line patterns frame the design.
Reverse: Features an agricultural scene with a farmer operating a tractor plowing a field, with rural buildings and landscape in the background. The denomination “10” is printed in multiple positions, accompanied by Amharic text and ornamental borders. Additional security patterns and design elements are present throughout.
