This historical postcard showcases the Monument to Sadi Carnot in Bordeaux, France, an elegant statue honoring Marie François Sadi Carnot (1837–1894), the President of France who was assassinated in 1894. 
Sadi Carnot, the fourth president of the French Third Republic, was a key figure in France’s industrial and economic development. His presidency (1887–1894) was marked by national progress, but he was tragically assassinated in Lyon by an anarchist in 1894. Following his death, numerous monuments were erected in his honor across France, including this one in Bordeaux.
The reverse side of the postcard features a handwritten message and two French 5-centime stamps.
