This lot comes from the private collection of Mr. J. Bahamonde who over a period of 20 years acquired his collection from various prestigious dealers and has now decided to downsize his beloved collection. His degree in ancient Near East and Roman Britain archaeology from Manchester University, one of the best in the U.K. and passion for ancient history is reflected in this beautiful artefact.

Typically adorned along the centre, shoulder and neck with dynamic motifs in black on red slip, this vessel captivates with its rhythmic design and harmonious balance. The paired lug handles accentuate its sculptural form, creating a vivid interplay of colour, movement, and symmetry characteristic of ancient ceramic artistry of the Indus Valley civilisation.

Height: 24.5 cm

Condition: Very good considering ancient age, as expected some wear and patina. NO repairs.
