1801 Russia Empire Rouble Paul I Coin

This 1801 Russian silver rouble, minted under Emperor Paul I, is a remarkable example of early 19th-century imperial coinage. Struck in the final year of Paul I’s reign, it reflects both the artistic style and political atmosphere of the Russian Empire during his brief but eventful rule.
The reverse displays an ornate square frame with decorative scrolling, enclosing the traditional inscription:
“НЕ НАМЪ, НЕ НАМЪ, А ИМЯНИ ТВОЕМУ” – “Not unto us, not unto us, but to Thy name” (a quote from Psalm 115), reflecting Paul's deeply religious mindset and absolutist views.
