Obverse: Features a portrait of Ramón Castilla (1797–1867), a Peruvian president known for his reforms and abolition of slavery in Peru. At the center is the national coat of arms of Peru. The text reads “BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERÚ” and “CINCO MIL SOLES DE ORO.” Serial number “A 2773950 G” is printed twice in black. Date of issue: 1 de Febrero de 1979.
Reverse: Depicts miners working inside a mine, symbolizing Peru’s rich natural resources and mining industry. The denomination “5000” is printed multiple times across the design.
