1936 China 5 Yuan Banknote – The Central Bank of China
Obverse: Features a portrait of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of the Republic of China, on the left side. The denomination "伍圓" (Five Yuan) is displayed prominently in the center within an ornate green frame. Serial number "CA 164236V" is printed twice in black. Chinese inscriptions include "中央銀行" (The Central Bank of China).
Reverse: Depicts the Hall of Supreme Harmony (Taihe Dian) in Beijing’s Forbidden City, a symbol of imperial power. The denomination "5" appears in all four corners. The text reads "THE CENTRAL BANK OF CHINA – NATIONAL CURRENCY" with "FIVE YUAN" below the vignette. Serial number "CA 164236V" is repeated. The date "1936" is printed at the bottom center, along with printer details "Waterlow & Sons Limited, London."
