Prix régulier £225.00 GBP

Louis Paul Martinet (1833–1909) was a French banker and a respected member of the Paris commercial community. In 1874 he was appointed Judge of the Tribunal of Commerce of the Seine, the most important commercial court in Paris. Judges of this court were chosen from prominent merchants, industrialists, and financiers, which shows Martinet’s high standing in the business world of the time.
His appointment was commemorated with a personalized official medal, bearing his name and the year 1874. This type of medal was traditionally awarded to newly appointed commercial judges as a mark of honor.
Martinet lived his entire life in Paris, belonged to the upper bourgeoisie, and remained active in financial and commercial circles until his death in 1909.
