Daphne Jug, Blue

Hand-blown in Mallorca — a blue swirl jug pulled from the same tenth-century Moorish glassblowing tradition that gave the Balearic Islands their distinctive voice in glass, finished with a hand-applied green handle that no two craftsmen have ever made quite the same way. JJ keeps this on the table through lunch, filled with water or wine or whatever the afternoon requires. In the evening, she makes a batch of Paloma for friends to help themselves. The blue and green, she has found, make even tap water look considered.
