The funicular was a vital link for travelers heading to the Grand Hôtel des Alpes or continuing by cogwheel train to Rochers-de-Naye. Combining tourism and innovation, the route offered breathtaking panoramas of the lake and Alps, contributing to the Belle Époque expansion of Swiss alpine resorts.
