Saint-Omer, France – Le Jardin public, le kiosque rustique – Postcard Early 20th Century

Regular price £8.00 GBP

This postcard presents a peaceful view of the rustic kiosk in the public garden of Saint-Omer.
Saint-Omer, located in the Pas-de-Calais department of northern France, has long been known for its historical architecture, religious heritage, and verdant public spaces. The town’s public garden (Jardin public) was part of broader 19th-century efforts to provide green leisure areas in urban settings, reflecting Romantic ideals of harmony with nature. Rustic kiosks like the one shown here were common features in such parks, often built to blend into the surrounding landscape using natural materials.
The reverse follows the classic French “Carte Postale” format with separate areas for correspondence and address.
