This postcard features a black-and-white photograph of the Panthéon in Paris, one of the city’s most iconic neoclassical monuments.
Originally commissioned by King Louis XV as a church dedicated to Sainte Geneviève, the Panthéon was transformed during the French Revolution into a secular mausoleum to honor France’s great men. Today it is the resting place of luminaries such as Voltaire, Rousseau, Victor Hugo, and Marie Curie.
