Meknès, once the capital of Morocco under Sultan Moulay Ismail in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, is renowned for its fortified walls and monumental gates. Bab-Djenaona, like many of the city's gates, served not only as an entry point but also as a symbol of the city's grandeur and strategic importance.
