1979 China 10 Yuan Foreign Exchange Certificate

Obverse: Depicts a scenic view of the Yangtze River Gorges with mountains and a riverboat sailing through the valley. To the right, an ornate guilloche rosette with denomination in Chinese “拾圆” (Ten Yuan). Serial number printed in red at left. Text: “中国银行” (Bank of China).
Reverse: Features English and Chinese text declaring the note as a Foreign Exchange Certificate, equivalent in value to the Renminbi Yuan but only usable within China at designated locations. Denomination “10” and “TEN YUAN” appear at left and right, framed by elaborate guilloche patterns.
