1930 China 10 Customs Gold Units Banknote
Obverse: Features a portrait of Sun Yat-sen centered within an oval frame. Chinese characters appear at the top and around the portrait, identifying the issuing authority. Below the portrait is the denomination written in Chinese characters, with two red seals placed symmetrically on either side. An ornate patterned background and decorative border surround the entire design, with printed text indicating payment on demand.
Reverse: Displays the headquarters building of The Central Bank of China within an elaborate architectural frame. At the top is the inscription “THE CENTRAL BANK OF CHINA”. The denomination “TEN CUSTOMS GOLD UNITS” is prominently shown in the center, with the numeral “10” repeated in the corners. Red serial numbers appear at the top and bottom. Additional text reads “PROMISES TO PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND AT ITS OFFICE HERE”. Official signatures are printed near the bottom, with “SHANGHAI 1930” and “AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY” along the lower margin.
