Originales, handgefertigtes Triptychon von Daniel Witschkanow, 2026

About the painting:

Three expressive portraits form a cohesive composition between clarity and dissolution. From a seemingly chaotic tangle of black lines, human faces emerge, their different directions of gaze giving the triptych movement and psychologic al tension.

The larger middle canvas consciously forms the center of the work. The frontal, oriented face appears more immediate and confrontational, while the two outer portraits seem more tilted. This creates a visual dramaturgy between observation, self-perception, and inner unrest.

The consistent reduction to black and white intensifies the raw elegance of the piece. From a distance, three powerful portraits appear, while up close countless fine threads, loops, and condensations reveal themselves—a dynamic interplay between control, chance, and human emotion.

Technique:

The triptych was created in the artist’s characteristic thread technique. For this, high-quality, highly pigmented acrylic glaze is mixed with selected painting media until a fluid yet controllable consistency is achieved.

The color is transferred to the canvases with brush and hand in long threads, dynamic loops, and spontaneous movements. Through repeated overlays, both delicate lines and powerful condensations arise, from which the faces gradually take shape.

High-quality acrylic paints and acrylic glazes ensure intense blacks, clear contrasts, and long-lasting color brilliance. Each canvas is an independent handmade original and at the same time an integral part of the consciously composed total work.
