The Église Saint-Ouen is one of the most remarkable examples of Gothic architecture in northern France. Built between the 14th and 16th centuries, it was originally a Benedictine abbey church and later repurposed for public worship. Its richly detailed façade, immense rose window, and soaring lantern tower are all masterworks of late medieval design. Located in the historic heart of Rouen, the church played a key role in the city’s religious and cultural identity, standing not far from the cathedral famously painted by Monet.
