Historisch als Verteidigungswaffe in Kriegszeiten verwendet und von den Tikar in Kamerun als dekoratives Symbol für Status und Reichtum ausgestellt. Dieser große Schild wurde sorgfältig aus einem massiven Stück Baobab-Holz gefertigt, einem heiligen Holz, das seit Jahrhunderten für medizinische und rituelle Zwecke verwendet wird. Er besticht durch Hunderte von handgesetzten Perlen auf Manilafaden in einem kreisförmigen Muster um einen dimensionalen Cluster natürlicher Kaurischnecken in der Mitte. Diese dekorativen Schilde sind Unikate, die von einer großen Gruppe von Menschen in Zusammenarbeit gefertigt werden, um jedes Stück wirklich einzigartig und gemeinschaftlich zu machen.
