Obverse: Features a detailed vignette of a young girl on the right. The center carries the bold inscription “Bond of the State of Louisiana” with denomination “Five Dollars” printed below. Serial number “113951” is displayed in red ink, with additional handwritten signatures and validation marks. The left side shows an ornate circular “5” design, while the right margin contains detachable coupons for interest payments. 
Reverse: Printed in green ink, the reverse showcases intricate geometric patterns with the word “LOUISIANA” prominently at the center. Ornamental medallions bearing the numeral “5” appear on both sides. Text states that the bond was issued under the provisions of the Constitution of the State of Louisiana, adopted in 1879, and approved by Act 104 on April 10, 1880. Coupon numbers are visible along the left edge.
