Regulärer Preis £10.00 GBP

This postcard captures the bustling naval port of Brest with a view of the massive industrial crane (“la grue”) and the moored French naval vessel Duguay-Trouin.
Brest has been a key French naval base since the 17th century, heavily developed under Cardinal Richelieu and later fortified by Vauban. The crane pictured, likely part of the Arsenal de Brest, was instrumental in the maintenance and fitting of warships. The Duguay-Trouin name refers to several ships in the French Navy, most famously a cruiser launched in the 1920s named after René Duguay-Trouin, a celebrated privateer and admiral.
